Dear Reader,

I know change.org is a platform where people bring up genuine and serious issues, seeking a change. I have a more trivial issue at hand that affects me and many fellow fans of Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

We all know Sachin sir retired a few years back from all forms of cricket and with his career ended an unforgettable era of cricket. He donned the ODI Jersey No. 10 and made it legendary. All around the country people have associated Sachin sir with Jersey No. 10 and still remember him wearing the coveted number 10. It's a memory etched in gold in every cricket fan's and every Sachin fan's mind.

In a recent One Day International match between India and Sri Lanka, we noticed Shardul Thakur, a debutant fast bowler, wearing the Jersey No. 10 and it did hurt the sentiments of most of the fans. We associate that number with our hero and it was very disheartening to see someone else wearing that jersey number and representing India.

The IPL Franchisee of Mumbai Indians had retired the Jersey No. 10 with Sachin sir ensuring that nobody can claim that number again and it will forever be his jersey number.

Sachin sir has also worn other Jersey numbers but No. 10 has been integrated with Tendulkar.

I know that it's a trivial matter and it may not be widely accepted by public in general but we can atleast pay our respects and show our love to the greatest cricketer India has ever seen by retiring the India ODI Jersey No 10.
