Dear Supporters,

I have some bad news. There was a recent vote by the Caswell County Board of Commissioners regarding the hurtful monument to white supremacy that is prominently displayed in the Yanceyville town square.

Votes were evidently cast along racial lines with the county commissioners voting 5-2 to keep the Jim Crow statue in place. However, this petition will continue until it is gone. We have a new goal of 10,000 signatures. Please encourage others to sign. Thank you.

We must not stop talking about the despicable Confederate monument at the town square and making it an issue. The Democratic Party in the county supports removing it and once Republican commissioners are voted out of power, or come to see the light and error of their way, the change we need will inevitably happen.
