Stop funding cuts at Bob Elliott House

The Issue

Bob Elliott House is a fantastic sheltered housing establishment in Blyth Valley and offers support to a large number of residents on a 24 hour basis. The staff are unbelievable and go over and above their job titles to ensure all residents are well cared for as well as providing them with company and friendship.

Funding cuts mean that this support is going to change and a lot of residents as well their families are extremely anxious about this with a lot of them being sold Bob Elliott House on the basis of this exemplary level of care and support.

My dad, Peter is one of the residents and has since been extremely stressed and worried about the changes that would be made should funding cease. He has recently been taken into hospital as a result of breathing problems which can be attributed to his anxious state alongside him suffering from Motor Neurone Disease.

My dad alongside all of the other residents rely strongly on the 24 hour care given by Helping Hands and if this were to be altered or taken away entirely there is a strong possibility of accidents leading to unthinkable consequences as well as isolation of older people in our community.

Please sign this petition to fight the changes to funding and help the residents and their families.
