Approval for all telehealth therapies from BCBS IL and Early Intervention

Picture this, a child with a speech and language disorder, or a child with sensory issues, or a child with physical limitations not receiving any of their necessary therapies to advance their progress and in turn regressing in those areas. Children all over the state of Illinois will soon experience this dilemma if the state and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois continue to deny telehealth services to therapists to provide the necessary services.
Telehealth is a research base video platform that therapists have been using with their clients since 2005. It provides remote therapy to children and their families to rural populations, to medically fragile children, and in times when therapists can’t meet face to face with their clients. With the recent quarantine because of the coronavirus, Early Intervention providers of Illinois found out yesterday that they cannot see clients until April 15th. Early intervention is also denying telehealth services to the most vulnerable population! These children and their families need these speech, occupational, physical, and developmental therapists the most right now during this difficult time the world is facing. Our children need us! Please sign this petition to get the word out to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and Governor Pritzker to approve telehealth services to our children. These children need your help!
