I recently tried to access a fun, safe website that I had already tested on my home network, only to find out that it was blocked by Smoothwall at my school. This event is not just isolated to my experience; many students encounter the same frustration every day. Smoothwall is meant to protect us from harmful content, but in its current state, it often prevents access to websites that are vital for education and our personal development.

Further, not all blocked websites are a threat. Multiple educational platforms often fall under Smoothwall's blocking criteria, which can include interactive learning websites and digital libraries. We should not deprive students of these benefits by sticking to antiquated blocking techniques.
