Block Grok from Pentagon Systems Now
The Issue
The U.S. Department of Defense has announced plans to integrate Elon Musk’s AI tool, Grok, into classified and unclassified Pentagon networks—despite widespread reports of the system generating sexually explicit images, including sexualized images of children, and content containing racist, antisemitic, and violent material.
This is a dangerous mistake. It’s not just unethical—it could be illegal.
In recent months, Grok has been linked to multiple scandals, including:
- The use of its image generation features to create sexualized content involving minors, leading to temporary bans in Indonesia and Malaysia;
- Formal investigations by UK media regulators into Grok’s role in manipulating images of women and children;
- Grok referring to itself as “MechaHitler” and promoting antisemitic, Nazi-themed content.
Despite these red flags, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that Grok will be deployed across military networks “very soon,” and will have access to federal data, mission systems, and AI operations. If this rollout goes forward, it risks exposing national defense systems to a tool already documented to have generated harmful, illegal, and dangerous material.
AI in military operations must be subject to the highest possible safety, ethics, and content standards. Grok does not meet them.
We call on:
President Donald Trump
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth
Congressional Armed Services Committees
to immediately halt the deployment of Grok across all Pentagon systems, pending a full independent review of the platform’s safety, legal compliance (including child exploitation laws), and content safeguards.
AI is a powerful tool. But no technology that has been used to sexualize children, spread hate, or glorify Nazism should be allowed anywhere near our national defense infrastructure.
Sign now to demand accountability, safety, and common sense. Say NO to Grok in the Pentagon.
