The proposed Columbia Wind Project in Wisconsin raises significant concerns for the community.  Despite the allure of renewable energy, it's crucial to address the potential adverse health effects that large wind turbines can have on nearby residents. Studies suggest that noise pollution from wind turbines can lead to disrupted sleep patterns, headaches, and other health issues. These effects cannot be overlooked as the well-being of our community must come first.

Moreover, the environmental impact on our wildlife must be understood.  Wind turbines are notorious for their potential to cause bird mortality.  The installation of these large structures can only be a detriment to these populations, including bald eagles.  Protecting our wildlife should be a priority in any development plan.

Property values also face a severe risk of decline once such large industrial structures are erected.  Homeowners in the area invested in these properties for their natural beauty and tranquil rural vistas, which will be irrevocably altered by towering wind turbines.  This not only affects the economic investment of individuals but also the visual heritage of our community.

Finally, it is imperative that local residents have more control and input in decisions that directly impact their lives and surroundings.  The placement of large wind turbines is too significant a decision to be made without substantial local involvement and approval.
