The Dec. 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act included riders mandating the sale of oil and gas drilling leases in the protected Coastal Plain of the Arctic Wildlife Refuge by 2024. These pristine lands are home and/or breeding grounds for thousands of animals and birds. As of the Notice of Intent released by Alaska's Bureau of Land Management, the leasing process has begun, with an open public comment period that lasts until June 19, 2018.  Send an email to blm_ak_coastalplain_EIS@blm.gov opposing the plans to sell oil and gas leases in the Coastal Plain!
