Provide Player vs Player Balance or Reassign Senior PVP Designer
The Issue
As an avid gamer for over twenty years I have seen companies come and go through the past couple of decades. Players abroad have always sought out the same when it comes to gaming; entertainment and a company that stands behind its product(s). I also have a long history of BETA testing games from Free-to-Play to Pay-to-Play game systems either MMORPG or Single RPG.
With the recent release of Blizzard Entertainment's expansion of World of Warcraft, Warlords of Draenor, the fifth expansion release since the games release in November 2004, thousands of players have expressed their concern for the lack of attention the Player vs Player Class system within the game has received. Throughout the forums players have voiced concern with little to no response, and in some cases locked or deleting threads where players have provided honest thorough suggestions - leaving the community in the dark. Blizzard Entertainment has made no effort to assure players that Player vs Player balance will be addressed and has been a 'lights-out' across the board from the development team at the company.
Brian Holinka, an employee and Senior PvP Designer for World of Warcraft at Blizzard Entertainment, has provided zero feedback via Twitter (and other means of social media) or the World of Warcraft forums of any up coming changes or fixes to player classes (mainly the Player vs Player environment), specifically the Monk class, which has been toned down into oblivion to help balance the class in the Player vs Environment. A fair amount of changes have been made specifically to the Monk class which has damaged its skill-set within the games Player vs Player environment. Each attempt by players who have posted well thought-out suggestions have been ignored from every angle and degree. The neglect to balance does not only affect Monks as other classes have had little to no balance adjustments (whether those adjustments have toned down other class abilities or enhance those abilities) done to them. We want change within one of our most beloved games and want to be heard by the developers as a community.
World of Warcraft is a subscription based game where players pay for a monthly fee to gain access to the games online play. Expansions are also another expense required by its players to progress within the games new content if the player chooses. Blizzard Entertainment, as most companies within the gaming industry, have created a larger gap between its community and developers with its recent release of its expansion for those who enjoy and care greatly about the Player vs Player system and the its products over the past two decades.
We, the players and community, ask that Blizzard Entertainment either adhere to adjustments needed to balance the games Player vs Player system within an acceptable time frame (30 days of this petition) or request the Senior PvP Designer of World of Warcraft step down from the current position allowing the company to realign another employee with greater care and attention to the Player vs Player Class system within the game.
