I grew up in Pittsfield MA, I’m petitioning for blinking red lights at the corner of Linden & Onota street. About a week ago, a city plow truck crashed into another vehicle coming up Linden Street, before that in the past decade there has been many accidents at this intersection, my family lives seconds away from this intersection, all I could think of this could have been me, this could have been anyone, Conte School is in this area just seconds away, I have my child in my car more than 50% of the time. What if this plow truck would’ve hit children that were walking across the street at that exact moment, the plow itself would’ve injured anyone badly. Even vehicles I know weigh a ton but plow trucks weigh so much more, I’m asking this to make this intersection safer for everyone who is driving in this area. This petition is also being drew up by the city of Pittsfield to the traffic commission on February 14th. I’m asking for more help during this time to get people to sign this petition, you might ask this intersection has always been the same, and I know car accidents happen all of the time, but if we can slow down traffic more in this area & make people more aware that this is a dangerous intersection if you don’t carefully watch your surroundings, something may happen. Your daughter might be driving, your son may be driving, your mom may be driving, even your dad, your brother or sister. If we can make things better one more light at a time, maybe we can make this intersection safer for people who are traveling. Please sign this petition. I know we can make a change together.
