Stop Blackpool Council destroying the only two hall indoor facility on the Fylde Coast

Hi All,

As some of you may be aware, Blackpool Sports Centre is looking to reduce its facility to one hall with plans to convert it into a children's play area and café.

This has a massive impact on local sports teams including: Blackpool Netball Club, the Fylde Netball League, local schools and other sports such as badminton, Blackpool Bears Multi-disability Sports Club, Futsal and local athletes with Olympic potential.

The proposals have been kept very quiet and there is now an Executive meeting due on Monday 14 October to discuss/pass the proposals.

There are countless cafés and soft play areas in Blackpool. Please help us save this facility, which is the only double hall on the whole of the Fylde Coast, for the current and the next generation.

Please help us before it's too late; after all, our sole goal is to promote health, fitness and well-being for thousands of local men, women and children who use the facility every year.

To think this is happening in the same year that Liverpool hosted the Netball World Cup and we have seen a massive increase in participation of our sport across the country is shocking.

The council is also taking out a large loan to achieve this, without any guarantee of its success!

Help us get to 1,500 plus signature to secure a debate!
