We have the same situation happening in the Energy sector, only the loss of life and devastation is going to be much more widespread. For instance.
1. Our Energy Minister Chris Bowen at the recent COP30 in Brazil in 2025, signed the Belem Declaration to Transition from Fossil Fuels. Although Minister Bowen, doesn’t know when this will happen or what the implications for the over 6,000 products, made from oil and gas will be.. Such as plastics, cement, asphalt, pharmaceuticals, etc.
2. The Victorian Government is planning to shut the Yallourn Coal fired power station in 2028 (which supplies a constant approx. 20% of Victoria’s electricity).
3. AGL is planning to replace the closed Liddell Coal fired 2,000MW, coal fired power station. With a 500MW Battery which will discharge in 2 hours. Then it will take goodness knows how long to recharge. The old Liddell site is an Energy Hub where a number of HV Transmission lines will feed in electricity from sunshine and wind projects. That might be OK, if it is not the 18 hours of night time and the wind turbines are not experiencing a wind drought!!
4. South Australia, has a large amount of Unreliable Projects, which can supply a lot of SA’s electricity.
But then again sometimes they can be unreliable. Such as, South Australia 4th June 2024 9.05pm EST. Batteries 0%, Gas 97%, Diesel 3% Solar 0%, Wind 0%.
However in their wisdom AGL, who own the Torrens Island 200MW, gas, power station, plans to close it in June 2026. SUCH A DECISION IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION.
With the very unwise decisions, planned to occur above. It is very apparent that our petition: TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 25th October 8.10pm AESDST. Batteries 4%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 46% Brown Coal 14%, Gas 7%, Hydro 14% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 15%. 7.45pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging 15%, but ranging from a pathetic 6% in NSW, up to 71% in SA. With the dread of wind droughts, dropping wind’s contribution to an overall 7 or 8%.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 25/10/25 8.10pm AESDST. In NSW coal is producing 79% Solar 0%, Wind 6%, Qld coal 68%, solar 0% wind 10% Vic Brown coal 56%, solar 0%, wind 19%. SA batteries 15%, gas 14%, solar 0%, wind 71% and Tas hydro 88%, wind 12%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
