If a new car dealership, moved into your area, you may be interested in looking at their flash, shiny cars. But, you would soon lose interest, when the salesman, told you that the cars, had a daily fuel shortage problem. This meant that in Winter, they could only be driven for 6 to 7 hours during the day, (and that was uncertain, if it was cloudy or raining when it could be reduced, to even nothing). And for the 17 or 18 hours of night, they had no fuel at all.
It would be no surprise to you, if the salesman, sold zero cars and the dealership went broke after a month. Leaving a yard full of unsold cars and a heap of unpaid bills.
Then why on earth, should Energy Minister Bowen and the Australian Electricity Market Operator (AEMO) be trying to power the Grid, which requires constant power 24/7. With fake, unreliable, part time energy converters.
By 2030, the AEMO, is going to be partly relying on Solar panels, on roof tops and in solar farm for a big daily supply of electricity. However Solar Panels have a huge, daily fuel (Sunshine), shortage problem. This means that in Winter, they could only supply electricity, for 6 to 7 hours during the day, (and that will be uncertain, if it is cloudy or raining) when it could be reduced, to little even nothing. And for the 17 or 18 hours of night, they will produce absolutely nothing.
The AEMO is also betting on Wind turbines, that are no better, than Solar Panels because their fuel is, wind at just the right speed. They have very similar problems to solar panels. In fact the wind industry average production, for wind turbines is 33% or 8 hours a day. With wind droughts of hours, days or weeks being a very big problem.
Again if the AEMO, has, the idea that Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or Pumped Hydro (which is a water driven BESS) can store and then release, ‘gap filling’ electricity, is an equally nonsensical idea. If solar and wind is so inefficient and suffer from solar and wind droughts, then there will be many hours and days when there will be no surplus electricity to charge the BESS’s and Pumped Hydro and to all intents and purposes they will remain flat.
With the enormous problems of Solar, Wind and Batteries. It is very apparent that our petition: TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 25th October 8.10pm AESDST. Batteries 4%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 46% Brown Coal 14%, Gas 7%, Hydro 14% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 15%. 7.45pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging 15%, but ranging from a pathetic 6% in NSW, up to 71% in SA. With the dread of wind droughts, dropping wind’s contribution to an overall 7 or 8%.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 25/10/25 8.10pm AESDST. In NSW coal is producing 79% Solar 0%, Wind 6%, Qld coal 68%, solar 0% wind 10% Vic Brown coal 56%, solar 0%, wind 19%. SA batteries 15%, gas 14%, solar 0%, wind 71% and Tas hydro 88%, wind 12%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
