I would like to begin by repeating, that it is false to say that releasing Carbon Dioxide CO2 is bad for the environment and the World. It is false, because: CO2 (a trace element) makes up only 427ppm (parts per million) or .04% of the World’s atmosphere. It is essential for life, particularly human life, if it falls below, 180ppm, living creatures struggle to live and green areas become arid. In fact, according to a new study published in the journal Nature Climate Change on April 25. 2025. The extra CO2 being put into the atmosphere is being taken up by plants, enlarging their growth and greening the planet. But, in order to reach Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050, it means reducing CO2 emissions, which is called decarbonizing the Economy. That translates into less electricity, being available at a higher, 24hour average price. It means less industrial activity, less economic activity, less productivity and poverty.
In the same way people, with every breath, breathe in oxygen and breath out. In one day, the average person breathes out around 500 litres of the greenhouse gas CO2 – which amounts to around 1kg in mass. So, does that mean that everybody, who is concerned that excess CO2, is causing Climate Change. Could as part of doing their bit to reduce CO2 emissions, reduce their breathing to one breath per minute? They might get sick and even worse, but at least they would be doing their bit for the Planet.

In the meantime it is very apparent that our petition: TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 19th December 9.25pm AESDST. Batteries 5%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 41% Brown Coal 12%, Gas 16%, Hydro 11% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 15%. 9.25pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging 15%, but ranging from a pathetic 9% in Qld, up to 51% in SA. With the strong possibility of wind droughts, dropping wind’s contribution to an overall 7 or 8%.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 19/12/25 9.25pm AESDST. In NSW coal is producing 61% Solar 0%, Wind 13%, Qld coal 64%, solar 0% wind 9% Vic Brown coal 51%, solar 0%, wind 16%. SA batteries 14%, gas 35%, solar 0%, wind 51% and Tas hydro 78%, wind 22%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
