The Unreliable Sunshine Catchers, Wind Catchers and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). House of cards is being propped up by Energy Minister Bowen’s (electricity consumer and tax payer funded), Capacity Investment Scheme.

My opinion John Moore, is that the CIS, works by underwriting the investments in the building of GW amount of rated Unreliables. Guaranteeing that no matter, whether they produce anything or not, they will make a profit. And if they accidently do make a larger profit, then they have to make a repayment to the Federal.
What is I see as being, the ridiculous part of the Capacity Investment Scheme, is that there appears to be. No obligation whatever that the Unreliable Sunshine, Wind or BESS that is built. For the Unreliable to produce any electricity at all. As soon as the tender is approved the money is paid, even if it never produces even one MWh of electricity in its lifetime.
As we know Net Zero is a lost cause, as most other Countries have stopped playing the Net Zero Game. Of deindustrialising, (shutting down all manufacturing, etc), pushing power prices as high as possible, permanently polluting farm land and disfiguring and destroying the environment.
So, to me the Capacity Investment Scheme is just another way, to milk electricity consumers and taxpayers and pour the cashflow into the wallets of Australian billionaires and multinational companies.
WHEN THE UNRELIABLES HOUSE OF CARDS COLLAPSES AS IT SURELY WILL.
TO HAVE ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS OPEN AND RUNNING WILL BE OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 27th July 7.45pm AEST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 45% Brown Coal 17%, Gas 3%, Hydro 8% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 27%. 7.45pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging only 27%, but ranging from a pathetic 8% in Qld, up to 90% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 27/07/25 7.45 pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 74% Solar 0%, Wind 24%, Qld coal 74%, solar 0% wind 8% Vic Brown coal 61%, solar 0%, wind 36%. SA batteries 6%, gas 4%, solar 90%, wind 40% and Tas hydro 97%, wind 3%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
