Unless Australia dumps Net Zero, (like China, India, Russia, USA and many other Countries in the World are doing). Australia will end up as a Third World Country, deindustrialised, with high power prices, an intermittent electricity supply and blackouts. (It’s no joke, already 100,000 people are estimated to be homeless. Living in tents and cars, if not caves).
And blackouts are happening already. This comment was made in the online Australian, today (3/08/25). “We are approaching 23 hours of no electricity in a vast part of the New England, region of NSW. No sun and no wind, just cloud and snow. If you are a disciple of renewables, you are getting what you deserve and a glimpse of a renewable future without coal or nuclear backup. No cooking, lighting, tv, very limited internet, no way to charge your mobile. No heating or reverse cycle. No electric vehicle to run down to the shop, which is closed anyway as they have no power either. Wood fired heating, which has been vilified for emissions is a small comfort for some.
It is very exciting to see Andrew Hastie, Liberal, Shadow Minister for Home Affairs, break ranks and say that he is coming out strongly against Labor’s push for Net Zero, because it is smashing our national interest. And Labor is trading away our prosperity and security.
Hastie, goes on to say he opposes the UN’s Simon Stiell, who berated Australia’s efforts to reach Net Zero. Making over the top Climate Change predictions, while jetting around the World on fossil fuels driven aircraft.
He opposes Labor’s move to decarbonise Australia’s Heavy Industry by imposing a Safeguard Mechanism tax.
He opposes multinational companies, promoting Renewable Energy Factories, being subsidised through the Capacity Investment Scheme.
He opposes the tax on diesel and petrol Utes and Offroad vehicles to force up the price, in order to increase the purchase of Electric Vehicles.
He opposes the requirement for farmers having to report indirect emissions created in all parts of their supply chain. (A nightmare of bureaucracy).
All of these taxes and paperwork making Australian products dearer and uncompetitive on the World markets. At the same time not making a 10th of a degree’s change to the World’s temperature.

AS THE TRUTH CONTINUES TO BE REVEALED THAT THE TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLES IS A FARCE.
It becomes very apparent that our petition
TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 27th July 7.45pm AEST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 45% Brown Coal 17%, Gas 3%, Hydro 8% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 27%. 7.45pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging only 27%, but ranging from a pathetic 8% in Qld, up to 90% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 27/07/25 7.45 pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 74% Solar 0%, Wind 24%, Qld coal 74%, solar 0% wind 8% Vic Brown coal 61%, solar 0%, wind 36%. SA batteries 6%, gas 4%, solar 90%, wind 40% and Tas hydro 97%, wind 3%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
