Why do tourists go to Tasmania? Answer: To look at the magnificent scenery, to travel through the Old Growth Forests.
Then why on earth would anyone disfigure beautiful Tassie, by covering it with thousands of potential incendiary devices and extremely unsightly Wind Turbines and HV Transmission Lines. And risk turning the whole Island into an inferno, if one or more lights a fire on a Total Fire Ban Day.
Wind turbines that are so inefficient that they only generate for the industry average of 33% of the time. Then their working life is only 15 to 20 years and they have to be dismantled at a cost of $800,000 to a $million for each turbine. Or if the companies who built them have gone into liquidation and left them as skeleton reminders of a scam, that scammed all Australians of up to $one trillion. And will continue to impoverish people through continuing high electricity bills.
Quoting from the Australian 25/7/25. At present one of the Australia’s largest energy projects – a $5bn-plus undersea cable and transmission scheme. The Marinus Link between Tasmania and Victoria – is “at risk” due to the $5billion cost and concerns over “ugly” power price impacts. It was reported that the federal and Victorian governments were ready to proceed with the Marinus Link, which aims to spark a wind and solar boom in Tasmania and export clean energy to Victoria. But after the recent election Tasmanian politicians are to still make a decision on the project.
My opinion is that for the sake of the future of Tasmania, I hope the second stage Marinus Link fails to go ahead and in some way Tasmania’s tourist potential is protected.
AS THE TRUTH CONTINUES TO BE REVEALED THAT THE TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLES IS A FARCE.
It becomes very apparent that our petition
TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 27th July 7.45pm AEST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 45% Brown Coal 17%, Gas 3%, Hydro 8% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 27%. 7.45pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging only 27%, but ranging from a pathetic 8% in Qld, up to 90% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 27/07/25 7.45 pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 74% Solar 0%, Wind 24%, Qld coal 74%, solar 0% wind 8% Vic Brown coal 61%, solar 0%, wind 36%. SA batteries 6%, gas 4%, solar 90%, wind 40% and Tas hydro 97%, wind 3%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
