1. An enormous fire risk is being created by covering of Rural Australia with Wind Turbines, Solar Panels, BESS’s and HV Transmission Lines. A situation is being made so dangerous because the Renewables are potentially millions of electrified, incendiary devices.
2. The huge permanent economic cost by permanently removing, millions of hectares of agricultural land from production. E.g. In the Meadow Creek area near Wangaratta, a hectare of agricultural land will produce prime beef production to the present-day value of $5,250 per hectare. For the land of the proposed Solar Factory, of 566 hectares that is a sum of $2,971,500 annually. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value would amount to $297.5 million dollars. That is an economic loss, plus the flow on of jobs to the Wangaratta community, surrounding areas and Australia as a whole.
3. Slaughtering our unique wildlife in numbers leading to extinction and the ruination of rural ecology. E.G. The Southern Brolga in Western Victoria. Brolgas have a unique salt gland that enables them to nest, flock and feed in saline wetlands. This information has been documented in https://www.ozcranes.net/species/saline.html and Brolga is the only crane in the world that has this capability. The Southern Brolga is being threatened with extinction, by wind farms being built in the nesting areas of Southern Brolga.
4. Permanently polluting land, along with surface and underground water runoff. E.g. The proposed Meadow Creek Solar Farm could be built on the City of Wangaratta’s water catchment area.
5. Disfiguring the renowned scenic beauty and peacefulness of the landscape. Rural areas are known for being peaceful and serene. They are being desecrated by constantly whirling wind turbines and heat, shimmering solar factories.
6. Desecrating, priceless tourism attractions. The Flinders Ranges SA is a world renowned tourist attraction, which is being disfigured by constantly moving wind turbines. Would you put a wind turbine on top of ‘Mona Lisa’?
7. Devaluing land values and country lifestyles. Who wants to live next to throbbing, flickering wind turbines or hundreds of hectares of solar panels? It is certain that property values will drop.
8. Renewable Energy Factories by their intermittent and unreliable renewable electricity production drastically increases electricity prices for both country and city consumers. The current price rises speak for themselves and our Australian advantage of having a reliable, low cost supply of energy is being lost.
9. Australia’s national security is at risk, with a large part of our electricity production and distribution being controlled by foreign companies. Our electricity supply is in the grip of foreign owned companies, particularly China. It could be turned off at any moment. An extremely serious situation that must be reduced as much as possible.
For these reasons the Renewables Transition must be stopped.
WHICH PROVIDES ALL THE MORE REASON WHY OUR PETITION TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS, IS SO IMPORTANT.
This includes Eraring in 2025, Yallourn in (2032 now 2028), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
NOTE: THE LIBERAL AND NATIONAL PARTIES HAVE GOT THE MESSAGE. THE LABOR, GREENS, TEALS AND INDEPENDENTS HAVE GOT TO BE MADE TO SEE THE LIGHT.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 9th February 2025 4.35pm AEDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 46% Brown Coal 9%, Gas 3%, Hydro 3% Diesel 0% Solar 24%, Wind 15%. 4.35pm a time when Solar should be in full flight is producing 24%. But another 3 hours and it will enter its 16 hours ‘bye, byes’ period when it produces nothing Wind is all over the place averaging 15%, but ranging from only 2% in NSW, up to 57% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 09/02/25, 4.35pm AEDST. Coal is producing in NSW 64% Wind 5%, Qld coal 64%, wind 2% Vic Brown coal 40%, wind 46%. SA gas 19%, Wind 57% and Tas 66% hydro, wind 34%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
