The ‘Transition to Renewables’ (TTR), is being driven (in my opinion) by Labor, Greens, Teals and Independent politicians, who have a complete lack of vision and any understanding of the unintended long term consequences of what they are doing. This means that they have no understanding, that the TTR is driving electricity bills ever higher for electricity consumers and to achieve the TTR, which involves the rollout of Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and the connecting HV Transmission Lines, will create devastating long term economic losses on Regional, Rural Australia.
To give a very important example, of the economic effect on Rural Australia, is to point to the importance of the economic value of the production of agricultural land, when calculated over one hundred years.
It is a fact that Agricultural Land is annually able to rejuvenate itself and continue to produce food and fibre, which is a miracle. And it should be kept as one of the most priceless, uses of land in Australia. If it is fertilized and nurtured it will continue to annually rejuvenate itself, and produce agricultural produce. Consider for the period from 2025 to 2125, a period of one hundred years and then indefinitely.
These are examples of the economic benefit from the production of Agricultural land over 100 years, if allowed to proceed unhindered and the loss if polluted by Renewable Energy projects.
1. If the Meadow Creek Solar Farm near Wangaratta Vic, is allowed to go ahead, this is the loss.
In the Meadow Creek area, a hectare of agricultural land will produce prime beef production to the present-day value of $5,250 per hectare. For the land of the proposed Solar Factory, of 566 hectares that is a sum of $2,971,500 annually. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value lost would amount to $297.5 million dollars, which would be lost to the Wangaratta City, surrounding areas and Australia as a whole.
2. If the Mallee Wind Farm (MWF) in NSW not far from Mildura, is allowed to proceed. The economic loss of agricultural production will need to be done in two sections.
A. The first section is the concentrated site of 445 hectares. It is estimated a hectare of the agricultural land will annually produce agricultural production worth a gross $346 per hectare. For the 445 hectares of the proposed MWF that is an annual sum of $154,000. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value would amount to $15.4 million dollars, that is lost to the Mildura and surrounding communities.
B. The second section is the remaining 56,885 hectares of the MWF. It is estimated a hectare of the remaining agricultural land will annually produce agricultural production worth a gross $200 per hectare. For the remaining 56,885 hectares of the proposed the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery that is an annual sum of $11.38 million. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value would amount to $1,138 million dollars, that is lost to the Mildura and surrounding communities.
C. Altogether the total economic loss caused by the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery to the Mildura and surrounding communities, over 100 years comes to $1.153 million dollars.
3. If the Cooba Solar Farm at Colbinabbin, (a grape growing area) is allowed to go ahead. The loss to the Colbinabbin Community and further afield Bendigo and Australia will be. Assuming a hectare of agricultural land will produce wine grape production to the present-day value of $6,000 per hectare. For the land of the proposed Solar Factory, of 1,100 hectares that is a sum of $6,6 million annually. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value lost would amount to $660 million dollars. The loss to the Colbinabbin Community and further afield Bendigo and Australia.
Consider that in just these three Renewable projects, is seen a loss to Australia, over 100 years of $2,110 million or $2.11 billion. Then consider that there are possibly, 150 to 200 projects, the potential loss to Australia runs into a $1Trillion or more of lost economic agricultural production
Add to that the talked about cost of $1Trillion to $1.5Trillion for the physical construction of the Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and the connecting HV Transmission Lines. There is no mention of the $2Trillion needed to pay for the supposedly decommissioning, restoration of the sites and disposal to landfill?
As no Renewable Project developers or investors have made any provision for the decommissioning, restoration of the sites and disposal to landfill? It might be assumed that the Renewable developers and investors, are going to disappear and leave the hosts, local Councils and the Community with one almighty toxic mess and a $2 Trillion clean up bill.
This disaster will SEND AUSTRALIA BROKE. It means that we will have to find politicians who have a vision, commonsense and WHO UNDERSTANDS AND WILL SUPPORT OUR PETITION.
Which is, (beginning with Liddell which closed and is now demolished in April 2023, Eraring in 2025, Yallourn in (2032 now 2028), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045). AND THAT NONE OF THESE COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS BE DEMOLISHED AFTER IT IS CLOSED, BUT BE MOTHBALLED, SO IT CAN BE RESTARTED IN THE EVENT, THAT A SHORTAGE OF ELECTRICAL GENERATION REQUIRES IT TO BE RESTARTED. Example: Eastern States 24TH November 2024 4.25am AEDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 56% Brown Coal 21%, Gas 6%, Hydro 8% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 9%. 4.25am no sunlight, a Blackout would be doubly devastating. The Sun is still in its 17 hour sleep and the wind’s only 9% could at any time drop even further to 3% of 4%, as it has in Tasmania. Or in other words solar and wind’s contribution is worthless and double, triple or quadruple the number of solar panels and wind turbines the result is just the same. 82% Renewables with no Sun, no Wind equals no electricity generation, guarantees blackouts
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 24/11/24 4.25am AEDST. Coal is producing in NSW 88% Wind 9%, Qld coal 84%, wind 12% Vic Brown coal 82%, wind 4%. SA gas 77%, Wind 23% and Tas 96% hydro, wind 4%.
