To me these politicians are living on another planet and need to be challenged with a strong dose of reality. The facts are for Australia to commit to a minimum 75 percent emissions reduction target by 2035. Would be to commit energy supply suicide for NO BENEFIT TO AUSTRALIA AT ALL. This is because as Australia emits only approximately 1.4% of the World’s, man made carbon dioxide (Co2) emissions, while China and India produces 53%, whatever Australia will do will make zero difference.
TO UNDERLINE, AUSTRALIA COULD SHUT DOWN IT’S MAN MADE EMMISSIONS COMPLETELY AND IT WOULD MAKE ZERO DIFFERENCE TO THE WORLD’S TEMPERATURE.
All the Teals, Independents and Greens need to respond to this fact, otherwise to safeguard our energy supplies we must vote for candidates who will. And in particular those who will support our petition to keep Australia’s coal fired power stations running.
The importance of our coal fired power stations is shown by the fact that last night (17/9) at 6pm AEST. Coal was providing 54% of the Eastern States Grid.
This again underlines how important our petition is. In that (beginning with Liddell which closed in April 2023, Eraring in 2025, Yallourn in (2032 now 2028), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045). AND THAT NONE OF THESE COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS BE DEMOLISHED AFTER IT IS CLOSED, BUT BE MOTHBALLED, SO IT CAN BE RESTARTED IN THE EVENT, THAT A SHORTAGE OF ELECTRICAL GENERATION REQUIRES IT TO BE RESTARTED. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest.
May I strongly urge all business owners, large and small. CEO’s Managers, those in charge of aged care homes, and other public institutions, everyone in a position of management. Homeowners, etc. Reliable, low-cost power is essential. Blackouts are a diabolically, serious issue. Talk with your management, boards, staff about how it will affect your business.
The ACT Government claims that they are totally renewable energy powered. The ACT Government is deluding themselves and doesn’t realise how wrong they are. As all their electricity comes from the NSW Grid. It is more likely to be anywhere between 60% to 80% fossil fuels and only 20% to 30% unreliables, with the damage unreliables are doing to Rural Australia the whole project is a disaster.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 17th September 2024 6.00pm EST. Batteries 2%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 42% Brown Coal 12%, Gas 12%, Hydro 16% Diesel 0% Solar 1%, Wind 11%. 6.00pm a Peak Period, just on sunset Solar is producing 1% , a few minutes and it will be zero and the wind is so unreliable.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators. Coal is producing in NSW 61% Wind 12%, Qld coal 71%, wind 4% Vic Brown coal 64%, wind 11%. SA gas 57%, Wind 27% and Tas 76% hydro, wind 24%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD HAVE BEEN BLACKED OUT.
