Bishops don't use birth control
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) refused to let women testify today at a hearing examining the Obama administration's new regulation requiring employers and insurers to provide contraception coverage to their employees.
Ranking committee member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) had asked Issa to include a female witness at the hearing (see video), but the Chairman refused [and] dismissed the Democrats' woman witness as a 'college student' who does not 'have the appropriate credentials' to testify before his committee."
Rep. Issa insisted this is a hearing about religious freedom. We believe it's about birth control, and the right to access the health care we need. Let someone contraception speak!

House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)
Dear Representative Issa,
It is critical that women's voices are heard in this conversation. As you know, this issue is not just about religious freedom, but is primarily about access to contraception.
We ask that you re-open the hearing and invite a full panel of people who use birth control to testify.
