Michael Templeton was dismissed from his position as Music Director at St. Mary's Church on Broadway in Providence.

In explaining the move, Bishop Tobin, in a move of stunning hypocrisy, said that "any person who holds a ministerial position in the Church, as an employee or volunteer, is expected to live in a way that is fully consistent with the teachings and faith of the church. If an individual deliberately and knowingly enters in a relationship or engages in activity that contradicts the core teachings of the Church, that individual leaves the Church no choice to respond."

Tell Bishop Tobin to follow the example being set by Pope Francis and churches all over the country to be a welcoming place for LGBT people to share their gifts with their communities.
