On Tuesday 23 December, 2014, Birmingham International Holdings (BIH) will hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel.

At the meeting, Company shareholders will be asked to “consider, and if thought fit, transact the following ordinary business” (a full breakdown can be found here), which includes the re-election of Peter Pannu as an Executive Director of the Company.

Peter Pannu’s tenure at Birmingham City FC has been fraught with issues. From a lack of communication with supporters to the excessive remuneration package he received while acting chairman of the Club, Pannu showed not only a lack of basic leadership, but also a lack of respect for the Club’s true custodians – the fans.

We believe that the re-election of Peter Pannu will see the return of these issues. Thus, as supporters, we must act to ensure that this does not happen – for the best interests of BCFC.

We need to send a clear message to major BIH shareholders in Hong Kong that the re-election of Peter Pannu is not only damaging for our Club, but also damaging for their own business interests. The recent incident concerning inappropriate comments on the Often Partisan website serves to emphasise this point.

In Hong Kong, a businessman's "face" is everything. While Pannu's excessive wages, abusive comments and sullen silences have won him no favours here in Birmingham, shareholders and fellow members of the BIH board are not fully aware of the antipathy against him. We need to make them aware that Pannu is the very public face of BIH in Birmingham and his actions reflect poorly on everyone else. By removing him from the Board, it removes one of the key sources of antagonism between BIH and the fans.

By working together, we can ensure that our collective voice is heard by the individuals just shy of 6,000 miles away. To that end, we ask that you consider signing our newly launched online petition supporting our campaign against the re-election of Peter Pannu to the BIH Board.
