On Wednesday 31st of March a woman was sexually assaulted in Selly oak park whilst walking to work. Many nurses myself included walk through that park to get to and from work, because of the shifts we do it’s usually dark for both journeys. 
In recent weeks there have been several bike thefts with at least one resulting in violence. There has been several mobile phone thefts and handbag snatches, there was 2 in one day alone.

There are several paths through the park with only one of them being lit, there is only one CCTV camera at one end of the park. 
I am asking that Birmingham city council put our safety above cost, I’m asking that they install lights on all paths and several CCTV cameras. I know it might not stop the thieves and perpetrators of other offences but it might deter them and it will definitely help in catching them and getting them prosecuted.

Im just a worried mom asking for protection. The park is used by many and is very well looked after by the grounds people but they can’t be everywhere 

I’m even happy to do fund raising to pay for it but I do need the councils support.
