Since January 2017 there have been 3 major crashes at Belgrave Middle Way with Horton Square, and Longmore St. One of which involved a fatality with a pedestrian from a police chase. Had there been a safer pedestrian crossing risks to pedestrians a cyclists would rapidly decrease. 

A bridge or improved signalling and signs would be ideal, along with slower speeds, and more welcoming space to help slow vehicles down! Please sign this petition to encourage the council to take action NOW before more lives are destroyed by this horrific and incredibly out of date section of roadway.

BELOW are list of all Belgrave Middle Way Incidents:

1) 26/1/17: Cyclists get hit by a taxi driver

2) 27/3/17: Pedestrian gets killed by run away motorist

3) 2 teen motorbikers get hit by a car suffering major head injuries. 

Despite rules being broken here, I STRONGLY feel the junction is half to blame. The signals are very worn out and faded. The markings are poor, pedestrian crossings are also very poor including cycling facilities. Had there been a bridge provided for cyclists AND pedestrians half the incidents listed would not likely have happened.
