Remove the Bioware Points payment system from Mass Effect/Dragon Age games, and adjust downloadable content pricing.

The Issue

The very idea behind Bioware Points is completely anti-consumer. It often forces customers to pay for more than they actually want. For example, if I wanted to buy the Alternate Appearance Pack 1 for Mass Effect 3, it costs 160 Bioware points. The lowest Bioware points pack available for purchase includes 400 Bioware points. I am forced to pay for more points than I need to complete the purchase. This tactic makes the consumer either buy more content with leftover points, or leave the remaining points to not be spent. Imagine a fast food establishment that only accepted cash in $20 increments with no change given. The principle is identical. Bioware Points have been abandoned for Dragon Age: Inquisition, and future titles. Removing them from games that currently use them is obviously not out of the question, and your loyal customers demand that you do so.

Furthermore, We would like to request fair pricing on downloadable content for the Mass Effect, and Dragon Age series. Value of older titles decreases as time goes on. Pricing on DLC should reflect that. Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 can be purchased for $30 full retail as of today. To purchase enough bioware points to own all DLC for the series would total $105; over 3 times the cost of all three base games. We understand the need for post launch revenue, but the pricing is absurd and drives off more customers than the ones who are willing to purchase at that price.

Additionally, we request that all DLC for the Mass Effect and Dragon age series be purchasable through the Origin and Steam clients. Purchasing through Bioware's website adds more steps than should be needed, and we believe customers would be more willing to buy content, if the process was more streamlined.

By signing this petition, we state that we are potential customers. We are some of the biggest fans of Bioware games. We want to play the Dragon age and Mass Effect series in their entirety, however we will not support anti-consumer business practices. We demand that Bioware Points be removed from current titles, and additional content pricing be fairly adjusted. Until these changes are made we pledge not to buy any content only purchasable through Bioware Points. Thank you.
