Expose Janet Jackson Of Her Chart Manipulation Fraud
The Issue
Update: Janet Jackson is now "bundling" album sales in with Uber Rides. As a fan since 1986, this makes me sick to my stomach.
Janet Jackson is not only committing fraud on her fans, but the music charts as well. Most importantly, Billboard knows about the scam but is hoping people don't notice.
I attended a show of hers at the Chicago Theater and bought a t-shirt. I didn't want a copy of her CD. But it was given to me anyway. That's all fine, but then the guy managing the souvenir stand admitted that the entire purpose of giving fans free CDs was so Janet's album could climb back up the charts. I left in disbelief, but did research and found out this is all true.
Here are some sources: Showbiz411, Inquisitr
And proof that Janet Jackson scammed her fans into buying a copy of the album just so they can get access to buying early tickets (and help her album chart): Hits Daily Double
In the week Janet cancelled four of her shows, no CD's were given away with T-shirts. The CD fell from #14 to #41 on Billboard's album chart:
However, now that Janet used her CD scam on her OWN fans, the album is climbing back up the charts:
I contacted Billboard on Friday, and they told me that the sales absolutely count and are legit since the price of the CD is "bundled" in with the sales of t-shirts or other souvenirs. That is complete B.S.! In fact, my research shows that before Janet started "bundling" in the CDs in San Francisco, the prices for her t-shirts, concert programs, etc. were the same. This is a flat-out lie!!
The fact is that people buying the t-shirts and other things DO NOT intend to buy Janet's album. If it was such a good album, why would she need special tricks to cheat her way on the carts? Why would she need to scam her own fans?
