The Envigo facility in Cumberland, Virginia has been abusing beagles bred and sold for animal testing for years, and no action has been taken against them. An investigation by Kerri O’Brien of 8News with undercover footage by PETA shows MANY deceased beagles (estimated 350), admissions by staff of withholding food and water, beagles crammed together in metal cages, and unqualified staff administering drugs to the dogs. Envigo has made a statement that this footage was taken out of context, but there is NO explanation for this horrid treatment of a beloved animal. We call on Senator Bill Stanley and Governor Ralph Northam to ACT IMMEDIATELY and get this facility shut down and have employees arrested and charged with animal abuse. There is no reason to treat animals as less than us, especially with abuse and neglect. All animals deserve a love filled life.
