#justiceforkane/Justiified Kill no physical attack! NEED NEW LAW to protect our dogs!

The Issue

My beloved dog was shot one time & killed in the back of his head on my street, just a few steps from my home on 04/19/2020. The sheriffs office told me multiple times "JUSTIFIED" because he felt fear/or the dog was acting aggressive yet this man, his wife, and his dog had NO defence wounds, No torn clothing, Not a scratch. The sheriff's explanation on that day was completely different the the 3 sentence police report. No statements taken, No picture taken, No questions asked, from where my dog lay on the street & where they were standing ( even in their statement they posted 5 day later) Kane's face was in the opposite direction of were they stood. The bullet entry behind the head  in perfect center was just under his skull one would observe this was not a defence shot. Sheriff ask no further questions.. Then when my dog was examined the bullet wound was in the back of his head/neck dead center which did not fit into either explanation that we had been told. This man continues to call my dog PITBULL,PITBULL,PITBULL! ( He was half boxer/half PitBull) Kane went thru an extensive dog training when he was 2. He has never hurt our small children, our cat, the wild bunnies and/or any wildlife that is in and about our property, he was very muched loved by all that encounter him, even strangers as I continue to ask everyone around us. He was only 8. We adopted him when he was 8 months old. The only thing he was ever accused of was his big wet sloppy kisses.

According to the laws I have seen Cows and Pigs have MORE rights then our beloved dogs!! Please help me fight for a new law that protects our dogs from allowing them to be shot & killed without any proof of an actual attack. I feel in this case and I'm sure many others its treated as an automatic dismissal "justified". All one has to say was in fear of. If it had been livestock investigation would have been automatic. To me in fear of or being attacked does not justify a one kill shot in the back of the head.

It is outrageous that there is no law to protect our beloved dogs from being executed/shot with any physical proof. All one has to say it tried to attack and/or made me feel it was going to attack. With that there seems to be a free will to shoot dogs and with as many carry & conceals we have in our state I feel that this is a must. Specially in a residential areas!! Dogs are loose all the time. Leash Law is extremely lax in the state.
Sheriff's office told me a number of times to contact Animal Control.
Animal Control told me a number of times to contact the Sheriff's office.

Seems nobody knows who is in charge of these acts by law if a dog gets shot and killed in a residential neighborhood, or anywhere for that matter. This has been exceedingly devastating and frustrating in multiple areas of the current law or lack there of.
