Hello everyone,

Thank you for your continuous support, we're making changes, and I'm so proud of all of us.

It's been a while since I've posted an update on the petition site, and I apologize for that. I've been very active on our Facebook group sharing updates, awareness and everything else in-between. If you haven't joined the Facebook group yet, here is the link. Madisson's Group

However, I wanted to share some amazing news. On September 26th, 2025 MP Dan Albas Okanagan Lake West-South Kelowna has reintroduced Bill C-332, and submitted our petition to parliament as of yesterday morning (October 13th) Keep signing and sharing this as much as possible, just because it was submitted, it doesn't mean it's done. We need everyone's voices.

What does it mean when an MP tables a petition?

What it means legally and politically;

Right now, the bill isn’t law yet - and hasn’t officially been retabled as a new bill number (like BILL C-XXX). But this means MPs are actively calling on the government to revive it - using the same wording and intent as the original BILL C332. If enough support builds, either the government or a private member (like Albas or the original sponsor, MP Laurel Collins) can re-introduce it for debate again. This means every person who has been petitioning for this change is getting heard and seen.

Why this matters;

It shows momentum - people (like us!) and politicians haven’t dropped the fight to make coercive control a crime in Canada. It keeps the issue on Parliament’s radar and pressures the Justice Minister to act. Once it’s reintroduced, it will start moving through readings, committee, and votes again - but likely faster since it already had legal review and cross-party support before.

This means Bill C-332 isn’t dead - it’s being revived. The movement to criminalize coercive control is back in motion, and Parliament is being urged to make it law as soon as possible, they have 45 days to review and respond to this.

We got this, I believe in us.

Lots of love, always.
