Let's save our local bagel shop.

Alex's Bagel's is a community landmark and a piece of our history. Beginning 55 years ago as Kimmel's Bagel Shop, and now as Alex's Bagel Shop, this store has provided warm, delicious bagels to family celebrations, business meetings, and many other occasions. This shop represents more than a bakery, it's a real example of the American Dream--it's the story of an immigrant who began working as a baker and then bought the store from his employers.

Recently, Alex's Bagel's was informed by Big Y World Class Markets that they would need to leave their Williams Street location by January 1, 2017, putting into question where the bakery will relocate, or if they will remain open at all. 

For so many of us, this news is upsetting, and we feel compelled to take action. Let's stand together and ask Big Y to keep a piece of Longmeadow's history intact.  

So what can we do? 

• Organize: sign this petition and let Big Y know that this store is important to you, personally.
• Call and voice your opinion: ask Big Y to help preserve our community by offering a solution that helps all parties. 
• Visit Alex's Bagel's: the best way to Save Our Bagel Shop is to be a good customer! 
• Be on the Look Out: If you know of a good space in Longmeadow, or have a good solution to the problem, let Nina and Alex know!
