The restaurant industry has heard from its consumers and is now zeroing in on ending the confinement of egg-laying hens. However, Big Boy Restaurant is the one bad apple that is not interested in ending its support of animal cruelty.

Restaurants across the country have committed to going 100% cage-free. Big Boy Restaurant’s direct competitors: Tim Hortons, IHOP, Bob Evans and Denny’s have released a public policy ending the use of cruel cage farms.

Egg-laying hens who are subjected to cages are faced with some of the worst forms of animal cruelty imaginable. These chickens are crammed on top of one another, unable to perform any of their natural behaviors, and suffer from physical and mental agony from this intense confinement.

The restaurant, retailer, and egg industry has fought to remove this cruelty in its food supply. McDonald’s, Walmart, Eggland’s Best and over 250 companies have committed to sourcing eggs from suppliers that do not confine animals in deplorable conditions.
