A Resolution From the People of Nebraska

Whereas, the US House of Representatives has passed HR 1, which should hereafter be known as the Big Bad Ugly Bill because it takes away health care and nutrition assistance from millions of people.

Whereas the Big Bad Ugly Bill will eliminate health care coverage for thousands of Nebraskans and take away nutrition assistance from thousands of Nebraskans, particularly women and children.

Whereas Representatives Flood, Bacon and Smith all voted for the Big Bad Ugly Bill which will hurt thousands of their constituents.

Whereas the primary reason for passing the Big Bad Ugly Bill was to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.

Whereas the Big Bad Ugly Bill is projected to increase the federal deficit by more than three trillion dollars.

Now therefore be it resolved by the People of the State of Nebraska:

We call upon the United States Senate to reject the Big Bad Ugly Bill. 

We intend to hold every Congressperson who voted for the Big Bad Ugly Bill accountable for every death, every illness, every hungry child, every mother denied food and care as a result of the Big Bad Ugly Bill by voting them out of office.
