Before lockdown the children of East the water were approached by local councilors and invited to pollyfield center to pick a new park which was going to be located at pollyfield and a pump track that was going to be  located at another location. Both weren't delivered and yet again the children of bideford have been let down. Lots of families are trekking over to Braunton to use the amazing facilities they have but this can be time consuming and costly when you have kids that want to ride everyday. The children of bideford desperately need more resources especially in east the water. A pump track would be a great space for children to help keep them active, aid good mental health and give them a space they rightly deserve. This generation have lost a lot with covid and spent too much time kept inside. Torridge District Council own enough fields in east the water which would be a great location. The plaza is a great space but not really appropriate for riding, especially at busy times. Everyone is living through difficult financial times and free activities are lacking in the area. There needs to be more on offer for the younger generation to do, keep them focused and enhance the skills they have. We need a space that is suitable for all ages and all abilities just like Braunton have offered their community. 

In an area that has a high level of deprivation and a high number of families this would be not only a great addition to east the water but a great educational resource. Supporting the cycling industry in the southwest and giving our youngsters a safe space to play and sharpen their riding abilities. A pump track is also suitable for skaters and scooters which would tick the box for many children and adults.

It could also generate a bit of revenue if a cabin style unit could be provided with it selling some coffee for the parents and snacks or food for the kids.

Our community really need this resource and it would be beneficial for generations to come.
