GAUTENG SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT UNDERSPENDS by R400 MILLION

Many of South Africa's social ills are embedded in lack of accountability - state resources (such as SAPS) exist solely to say they're there.

The DA Spokesperson, Refiloe Ntsekhe, said that this money could have been used to fund NGOs which deal with matters of social justice; it could have been also used in the acquisition of vehicles to aid Department Officials with their work. 

The SAPS Station in Mamelodi Ext. 4 is one of them. There aren't sufficient vehicles to aid, for example, the vast number of victims who require police escort when a Protection Order has been granted and/or violated. Suffice to say, we can also say that this money could have been used to fund this Gender-Based Violence Training Program, amongst other things.
