“Jitni jyada aurte hongi, yeh duniya unke liye utni hi behtar hogi”

Which roughly translates to- More women everywhere lead to safer and better world for all women.

I heard this relevant line in a short video by the Ministry of Women and Child Development for the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign. The video shows that a girl is travelling alone, late at night, in a cab. Her father calls her and panics but eventually you get to see that the cab is being driven by woman who assures the passenger’s father that she will safely drop her home.

This video emboldens the belief we all collectively share and that is more women cab drivers are bound to make female passengers feel safer. And that is exactly what this petition aims for.

In the previous petition update I had shared how more women cab drivers are bound to benefit the society as whole, which ultimately would lead to a better world for all women, like said in the video.

For the past one year, we have strived for this petition to be a victory and it feels great to find an ally in the Ministry of Women and Child Development. I was so happy to see this video and I am sure all of you would be too.
