Here’s some interesting news for you and the 50,000 others who signed my petition.
It’s in news that Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal has pumped in a whopping 150 crore rupees in ride-hailing platform Ola, part of a larger investment of Rs 650 crores. Now the first thought that crosses my mind after reading that news headline is that- its such an amazing news that an indigenous company like Ola is accomplishing such great funding for their business and that too from another able entrepreneur like Sachin Bansal.
Now that Ola have more funds to expand their business means that they can innovate with a pioneering concept like training and hiring 200 women to become commercial cab drivers. In the past, it was reported that Ola had promised to bring in 50,000 women-driven cabs. And now they have the funds to put this intention into action.
There is no doubt that Ola is a market leader. And what leaders do, others emulate. So when Ola announces #RideWithShe, more ride-hailing platforms will follow suit, thereby giving women customers like me the chance to choose a safe driving experience with a woman behind the wheel.
I know Ola is open to trying new concepts as it is venturing into the food delivery business like Uber. So the pilot project I am suggesting in Mumbai should be right up its alley.
Thank you all for signing my petition. It is your support that drives me to make this campaign a victory. Do share the petition on all your WhatsApp groups and help me get the word out. If more and more people sign, Ola will know we won’t give up until we get 200 women as commercial cab drivers in Mumbai.
