As we have been communicating with you, the FOMC Quarry Team has been reaching out to our State Rep. Patsy Hazlewood and State Senator Bo Watson to seek their support. In a meeting on January 24th, we asked Rep. Hazlewood to sponsor a proclamation during the current legislative session recognizing the value on the preservation of “World’s Tallest Post Oak tree.” We have also sought their help in assuring that state regulating authorities, including TDEC, require adherence to environmental regulations to protect Mountain Creek, its tributaries and Waters of the State.
Unfortunately, we have not heard back from them regarding our requests. This is why we are emailing today - to ask YOU for help! As a constituent, a voter, a property owner, will you please consider reaching out to both our elected officials to encourage action on our behalf? Their information is below.
Please know that there are multiple examples of this developer's flagrant disregard for storm water quality and environmental protection requirements at nearby Mountain Creek Trails and other developments. Please let St. Rep. Hazlewood and St. Senator Bo Watson know how YOU feel about our beautiful greenspace and that you are not willing to idly sit by and allow another large scale repeat of environmental regulation indifference at the Quarry. We must act BEFORE development begins!

If you do not live in these districts, we encourage you to write YOUR legislators and ask them to urge their colleagues to get behind this worthy and important cause. If you need help drafting a letter or email, please let us know and we can provide you with information.
Together, we can protect the World's Tallest Post Oak tree, our beautiful greenspace and our homes! Please act now! Thank you!
