The lack of public space to play hockey is regrettable. After the successes of the GB teams, hockey participation has grown by 100% particularly amongst juniors - boys and girls - as well as adults. This number would continue to grow if there was an option to play the sport in local parks. In view of the concerns about rising levels of obesity, extending access to a variety of sports must be important. The problem isn’t the lack of public Astroturfs the problem is there are no hockey goals. For example, Hurlingham Park has a perfectly good Astro used for football which would be perfectly suitable for hockey as well (football goals cannot be used for hockey).  Providing hockey goals would provide a public place for anyone to play hockey in their free time and would encourage others to take up the sport thus making the sport even more accessible to a diverse community such as ours.  We appreciate your time in considering this.
