The A.P. Beutel Health Center is the only clinic on campus. It is underfunded, its staff overworked, and constantly operates at 100% capacity. It receives funding almost entirely from students and continues to remove more specialized care with each passing year.

On a campus with over 70,000 students, one of the most populated in the country, we cannot stand this blatant disregard for students' basic health needs.

______________________________________________

Our Demands:

  1. EXPAND University Health Services (UHS), so the A.P. Beutel Health Center no longer runs at 100% capacity everyday.
  2. RECLASSIFY A.P. Beutel Health Center as a centrally-funded organization and allocate more funds and resources from Texas A&M University.
  3. REINSTATE Gender-Affirming Care and other specialized care* in UHS.

*Specialized care consists of and is not limited to: Birth Control Counseling, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing and Treatment, Pregnancy Testing and Counseling.

______________________________________________

Regardless of who you are, whether you attend or have attended Texas A&M, we all deserve adequate access to healthcare. This is a step in the right direction for over 70,000 students, workers, and faculty. Our Current Goal is 3000 Signatures: 3.5% of the Student Population. It is studied that if 3.5% of a population are active and advocating for change, the change will happen.
