Better Bathrooms, Better School Days

Better Bathrooms, Better School Days
The Issue
We understand how important it is for girls to have access to necessary feminine products in our restrooms, especially when periods can start unexpectedly. Many girls don’t always carry pads or tampons with them, and it can be stressful not knowing what to do in those unanticipated moments. This is a concern shared by many students.
Our goal with this petition is to work with the school to find a plan that supports students’ needs. We believe that all girls’ bathrooms should have pad and tampon dispensers that are functional and regularly stocked. We understand that in the past, some students misused these dispensers by removing the products and playing with them, which led to menstrual products being stored only in the nurse’s office. While we recognize the reasoning behind that decision, we hope to find a solution that allows dispensers to be filled again so students don’t have to rush to the nurse’s office during an urgent moment. Periods can start at any time, and reliable access to these products in bathrooms is not just convenient—it’s necessary.
Additionally, we would like to see a more supportive and organized bathroom environment. We propose creating a designated area for hair and makeup, including mirrors that reduce crowding in the main bathroom space. Many students feel uncomfortable or rushed when the bathrooms become congested with peers trying to fix their hair or makeup in front of the limited mirrors available.
Through this petition, we ask the school to take these important steps to create a more inclusive and considerate space for all girls. By making these changes, the school will not only support students’ wellbeing but also show that it understands and values their needs.
By signing this petition, you help show the school that we have strong support behind these requests and encourage them to prioritize these improvements to positively impact our daily school experience.
