Update the Bethlehem Middle School PTO logo to reflect all families!

Update the Bethlehem Middle School PTO logo to reflect all families!
The Issue
We have two incoming 6th graders to Bethlehem Middle School and we were reviewing details about the activities of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) so we can get involved when school starts in September. We noticed right away that the logo that the PTO uses is a picture of a "family", or "father-mother-child."
We sent an email to the PTO asking them if they've considered updating it, since the PTO stated goals is to be "inclusive of all parents and staff." The PTO responded that the logo signified "community" and not a "family" and that if we had concerns, we should plan on attending the PTO Meeting on September 20. Also, PTO members stated that the "logo has been that way for a decade" and that we "shouldn't start drama."
We are petitioning to have the PTO update the logo to a more inclusive one that represents all families in Bethlehem Middle School. My kids have two moms, and we know many other same-sex families as well as families with single parents who aren't represented by this design.
We know the PTO are hard-working volunteers, and we're grateful for their service. But what we put out visually shows our values and all our children are watching. We plan on presenting this petition on September 20 at the PTO Meeting.
