The health center at Bethany College is named after Senator Robert C. Byrd who was a recruiter for the KKK in his 20's and 30's.This is a man who in 1946 wrote a letter to the Imperial wizards group of the Klan and said " The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia." After making his own local chapter he had risen to the titles of Kleagle and also Exalted Cyclops. This is not a name we want to be representing our campus or it's students  sign this petition to get this name removed.
