Berry College has made the decision to move graduation to the forum in downtown Rome. This decision was not made by students, parents, faculty, or even the President of the school. It was decided by a board of people that did not ask for the opinions of who this would affect. Moving graduation will severely limit the amount of guests that can accompany graduates. For a day as big as college graduation, students deserve the opportunity to have their entire support system present. Berry has the world’s largest college campus where most students have lived for 4 years. They deserve to graduate on this campus. Also, the amount of money that will be used to book an off campus location could be used for other purposes on campus that students have been asking for. Not to mention the horrible parking that graduates and families will have to endure in downtown Rome. While we understand that rain has been an issue the past couple of years for graduation, many students still believe it is better to at least have the chance for all of their people to see them graduate. Berry students want Valhalla and they deserve a say in how they wrap up their time at Berry. This petition is for parents, alumni, faculty, and students. Please sign this petition if you agree that Berry students should be able to graduate on campus in Valhalla!
