We, the residents of Tramway Subdivision, Carriage Lane Subdivision and surrounding residents of Rose Drive, Summerville, SC are requesting that a walking and/or biking path be installed from Brighton Park Boulevard to the end of Rose Drive to protect the safety and security of pedestrians and bikers who daily have to walk/bike on the road.  There are deep ditches on both sides of the roadway and no shoulders to safely walk or bike. On February 1st, a person was struck by the mirror of a vehicle that went over the white line on the road.  The driver of that vehicle did not stop.  Thankfully the pedestrian is okay.  The next time, however, it may not just be the mirror of a vehicle and the pedestrian or biker may not be "okay".  Those of us that drive this narrow road daily know that at any given time of day or night, there are pedestrians and bikers trying to get to the areas of Nexton where there are safe sidewalks and trails.  We would greatly appreciate a review and approval of this request as it has been something that has been needed on this thoroughfare for quite a long time.
