No Gas Station @ Brosterhous & Murphy

(Please sign the petition but do not make donations via this website. Please donate via our GoFundMe page)
Bend neighbors are joining together to ensure our voices are heard:
GP Energy has purchased the 3 acre parcel at the Brosterhous and Murphy roundabout in SE Bend. While the property is zoned for a small grocery, coffee shop, food trucks and the like, GP Energy is planning to ask the City of Bend for a Conditional Use Permit to include two restaurant drive-thrus and a 9-pump gas station (Fred Meyer on 3rd has 8 pumps, as shown in the picture above).
Please sign this position to tell GP Energy & City of Bend Planning the "market studies" are wrong, NO we don't want or need a fuel station @ Brosterhous and Murphy and YES we are excited for non auto dependent businesses like a grocery, coffee shop, food trucks, etc.
Across from Jewell Elementary
- More traffic, disruptive traffic patterns and distracted drivers
- Safety - kids walking & cycling school, loiterers, etc.
Enough gas stations already
- 8 gas existing stations within 3 miles, all in the direction of where one might be going (to the west and north)
The last thing we want is a gas station at the center of our SE community
- An eyesore
- Incompatible with a warm, community feel
- Light pollution 24/7
- Noise pollution
- Across from Alpenglow Park entrance, our new green space
Neighborhood health, safety & environmental issues
- Toxic fumes from cars and pumps
- Underground contamination
- Fire and explosion danger
Parcel requires a conditional use permit for a gas station
YES to a small grocery, food trucks, a coffee shop
NO drive-thrus, NO fuel station No conditional use permit
