SAVE OUR TRAILS AND TREES IN BEAUTIFUL BEND, OR!

SAVE OUR TRAILS AND TREES IN BEAUTIFUL BEND, OR!
The Issue
We ask the City of Bend prohibit the relocation of existing public trails for the benefit of private developers. This request includes preserving the existing public trail easement located on Parcel 2 of Partition Plan 2013-2018 (near the intersection of McClain Drive and Shevlin Park Road) that is currently being developed by Pahlisch Homes (PZ-19-0381). Safety measures, including sight distance, can be implemented without moving the entire trail.
The relocation of the trail will:
- Result in the trail, presently located in a forest, to be moved immediately adjacent to NW Shevlin Park Road, eliminating the natural experience that currently exists.
- Allow the unnecessary removal of numerous trees in contradiction to City Code and the public interest
- Destroy mature trees for the purpose of allowing the developer to develop additional residential lots.
- Destroy the current character of the existing neighborhood and reduce overall property values.
THE EASEMENT WAS DEDICATED AND DEVELOPED FOR PUBLIC USE AND SHOULD NOT BE RELOCATED FOR PRIVATE PROFITS!
