Many of us drive through the underground tunnel where Oxmoor Rd becomes Palisades Blvd daily.  It's hard not to take notice of its state of disrepair - poorly lit with dirty walls and broken light fixtures.  Wouldn't it be nice to drive through a beautiful work of art, similar to the Light Rails project in downtown Birmingham?  Those of us living in the blossoming West Homewood area would certainly love a more cohesive connection between our neighborhood and Edgewood.  REV Birmingham has agreed to help us in any way they can once we have one thing - community support.  The tunnel is owned by Birmingham, and it may take some convincing for them to invest in something that would mostly benefit Homewood residents.  So we need your signature!  Let's make our tunnel what it is - a connection between areas of our wonderful city - and not a deterrent that signifies the end of the nice part of Homewood.
