Everyone,
Olympia Hills will be hosting an open house to present their "revised" plan. As expected, they have only given a one week notice. The meetings will be from 6 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday (Bastian Elementary) and Thursday (Golden Fields Elementary) next week. It is IMPERATIVE that we pack these meetings. Our power as residents is in our numbers and they are hoping for as little community involvement as possible so we desperately need to show in full force. Here are some key points to be aware of.
- The units per acre will be dropped from 8.9 to 6.9. The justification is a comparison to similar developments like CenterCal in Riverton and SLR in Herriman. However, these developments are significantly smaller than Olympia Hills.
- The data on traffic that Horrocks will present does not align with the Bonneville Research Study. Horrocks is claiming that less than 10% of Olympia Traffic will use our already crowded east to west roads because the majority will be taking Bacchus Highway. This is really where we need residents to speak up as to how ridiculous of an assumption this is.
- Most importantly, Olympia Hills has indicated that they DO NOT have any intention of waiting for the results massive feasibility study being commissioned by the southwest cities and Salt Lake County. This study is meant to be an unbiased indicator of what density level is actually sustainable in this area. This is a clear sign that Olympia Hills does not care about the effect this will have on adjacent cities
Please make it to one or both of the meetings if you can. It is very important that we have as much community involvement as possible. Thank you!
