Preservation of Historic Park and Environmentally Sensitive Lands
The Issue
The City of Bradenton Florida wants to give developers a pristine five acre century old historic park to bulldoz and build condos. This park is home to thirty one and two hundred year old oak trees, Eagles, osprey, and other endangerd birds and wildlife! It is the last pristine public space left on Manatee Avenue in Bradenton! This area was a vital intrinsic part of the native people in the area before the settlers arrived. It became the first free black settlement in florida. Then it was the first pioneer settlement south of Tampa. These people depended on this land for the rich soil and crystal clear springs and aquafir still in use today! Stop this rape and pillage of our wildlife, our trees, our aquafirs, our history!
